How to pitch your ideas successfully?


Coming up with an idea is easy, selling them to people is a relatively arduous task. A brilliant idea alone doesn’t guarantee success, it requires an effective communication to the right kinds of people who’d actually care about it.

 

The way you present yourself and your business is what forms the perfect first impression while you’re pitching. From an investor’s point of view, people are more likely to invest in ideas that are well prepared and well documented. The way you present yourself and introduce your business is what will propel investors to invest in your venture.


 

The art of pitching and how to go about it?

 

  • 1. Focus on your idea

 

A good idea is bad if it’s the only one you have. Try to fit in renditions of the same. Try thinking laterally. You should atleast have 3-5 ideas to back your pitch up.


 

  • 2. Short Pitch Concept

 

Never ever create a pitch that is not attention-grabbing. Your pitch should be delivered in a crisp and concise format. Most people are busy these days and won’t spend more than 1 minute, listening to what you have to say. Therefore, you have to ensure that your business presentations should be interesting enough for them to pay heed to.


 

  • 3. Build your pitch

 

Focus on what’s important i.e. the clincher idea. Peripheral points should be omitted from your business pitch. Try and make your pitch in the form of an engaging business story. The impertinent points are what drive people to action!


 

  • 4. Homework

 

If you’re pitching your ideas, you’ll always be on the receiving end of a barrage of questions. Therefore, you should do your research prior to the meeting and should be equipped to answer each and every question that comes your way!
